Natal aspect interpretations - Outer Planets

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:49 am

[The folliowing interpretations are from The New Instant Astrologer as a starting point for the other information I want to add here. I'll eventually be adding statistical results from my notebooks, other notes and clarifications I've accumulated over the decades, key interpretations from other sources that I've found valuable, etc.]

Jupiter-Saturn aspects

JUPITER-SATURN (Keyword: ORTHODOX)
These conservative people ride with the orthodoxy and are entrenched in the status quo. They are quite practical with finances and often considered "pillars of society." Business is their area, and though often lacking imagination they are careful and conscientious in their work. Politics seem always to attract their attention.

FURTHER NOTES:
Political orientation - many rulers. Others are at least "politically conscious," including the authors whose writings are politically-themed. In the collection of famous people's charts I put together for my class, severally politically-conscious people were included, although some of them were noticeable for being counter the status quo. -- Many religious leaders and avatars, probably as a variation of the political motif. -- More and more, the "ancestor worship" or "family tradition" motif is apparent to me with this aspect.

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: Candace Bergen, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Don Imus, John Lennon, Placido Domingo, Nadya Suleman, Rep. Dick Gephardt, Gov. Boby Jindal, Marshall Philippe Petain, Walt Disney, Werner Heisenberg, Alexandre Dumas, Gustave Flaubert, Marcell Duchamp

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
Saturn structures, formats, inhibits, frustrates, and experiences inadequacy and thus over-compensation concerning one’s socialization, response to social expectations, need to be included, style of gregarious expression, and need for the highest and best.
Jupiter enhances, qualifies, instills confidence in (can over inflate), and draws self-valuation from one’s way of facing life’s struggles, areas of insecurity, feelings of inadequacy, and personal autonomy needs.

Jupiter-Uranus aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:50 am

JUPITER-URANUS (Keyword: SUCCESS)
Far above most others in ability, if these people do not succeed it is usually because they are not in the good graces of their superiors. [REASSESSMENT: Not as frequently in trouble with superiors &c. as I previously thought.] Rank and position mean little to them, for their minds are resistant to any type of social or occupational stratifications. [CLARIFY: The key point here is that the "class structure" elements aren't important to them.] They are, therefore, gently resistant to authority [ADD: Will speak truth to authority.]. Philosophical and intellectual areas are their preferred fields (including astrology), for their minds are superb and they generally have great interest in matters of deep thought. They have a strong desire for self-understanding.
[ADD: Sense of "specialness," needs to be uniquely superior. Technological or creative genius? Social activists, but often quietly so. Thought-leaders.]
GARTH ALLEN wrote:When a Jupiter-Uranus formation is prominent in the birthchart, the ego is free to think apart from partisan prejudices, often to the point of seeing merit where merit exists in the enemy's camp itself. Because Jupiter-Uranus is able to project itself impersonally to think and appreciate in abstract terms, and instinctively dislikes caste distinctions, this team is the sponsor of Freedom From Authoritarianism. The native does not make blanket moral evaluations of persons, and thinks on a broader scale than do the local gentry.
REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: James A. Eshelman, Pres. John F. Kennedy, King Charles II, Fidel Castro, King Edward VII, King James II, Denzel Washington, Marlon Brando, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Douglas, Debra Winger, Chaz Bono, Annie Lennox, Henry Mancini, Ritchie Valens, Rev. Al Sharpton, Gov. Howard Dean, Prince Charles, Mark David Chapman, Jim Jones, Adele Davis, Paul Tillich, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Compton MacKenzie, Paul Gauguin, Donatella Versace

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
Uranus impersonalizes, unshackles, awakens, stimulates, and adds freedom from structure or inhibition to one’s socialization, response to social expectations, need to be included, style of gregarious expression, and need for the highest and best.
Jupiter enhances, qualifies, instills confidence in (can over inflate), and draws self-valuation from one’s individualistic concept of self and avenues of excitement (and how it is pursued).

Jupiter-Neptune aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:50 am

JUPITER-NEPTUNE (Keyword: IDEALISTIC)
Often viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, these idealistic types are victims of their own generosity. They are humanitarian types imbued with a "Christian spirit" whatever their religious affiliation, but too easily taken advantage of by others. Yet their hunches are keen, their personalities magnetic, and they have an uncanny talent for shuffling things and conditions so as to get the results they seek. Show business is a wide open field to many of them, and they tend to add drama and sensationalism to their styles of expression.

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: James A. Eshelman, Queen Elizabeth II, Laurence Oliier, Charlton Heston, Denzel Washington, Bettie Page, John Belushi, Leonardo DiCaprio, Debra Winger, Jim Carrey, Peter FInch, Aaron Spelling, Buddy Holly, Annie Lennox, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Justice JOhn Paul Stevens, Arthur Conan Doyle, T.S. Eliot, William Faulkner, Bertrand Russell, Algernon Swinburne [and an unusually large group of literature figures in general], Timothy McVeigh, Lance Armstrong, Chris Evert

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
Neptune exaggerates, diffuses, confuses, distorts, infuses with fantasy, hyper-sensitizes, atrophies, and withers one’s socialization, response to social expectations, need to be included, style of gregarious expression, and need for the highest and best.
Jupiter enhances, qualifies, instills confidence in (can over inflate), and draws self-valuation from one’s imagination and fantasy, mode of reality fabrication, sensual indulgence, and response to temptation.

Notebook #93 observations: (Conjunction-Opposition-Square) Strongly opinionated intellectual leaders, seeking to strike a path for others to follow.

Jupiter-Pluto aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:51 am

JUPITER-PLUTO (Keyword: AUTHORITATIVE)
This person rebels against contemporary social and governmental structures, perhaps considering himself a "law unto himself," with a marked exclusiveness about his person. Often this aspect is associated with a hunger for power, and it does indicate strong leadership abilities and true potential for eminence. However, often the eminence has not lasted once the ultimate position was secured (examples: Richard Nixon, Andrew Johnson, Clifford Irving, Alexander Dubcek, Napoleon Bonaparte). Success and prosperity fluctuate. There is an overestimation of self. Enthusiasms are intense, exuberance is visible. Often this configuration indicates spiritual strength or strong philosophical convictions, as with Gandhi. These people should always keep new goals ahead of themselves rather than becoming satisfied with what they have. [ADD: Financial roller-coaster. Self-improvement without regard for the rules.]

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: Pres. Andrew Johnson, Saddam Hussein, Margaret Thatcher, Jack Nicholson, Jane Fonda, Arsenio Hall, Johnny Carson, George Carlin, Sophia Loren, Nathan Lane, Christopher Lee, Irene Cara, Leonard Cohen, Peter Gabriel, Judy Garland, Jeanne Dixon, Bill Gates, Ted Bundy (foreground), Nina Hartley, Alexandre Dumas, Max Ernst, Mark Spitz, Mo Udall

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
“All or nothing” Pluto strains, either strongly intensifies or thoroughly diminishes, and creates powerful need to be free of others’ arbitrary limitations concerning one’s socialization, response to social expectations, need to be included, style of gregarious expression, and need for the highest and best.
Jupiter enhances, qualifies, instills confidence in (can over inflate), and draws self-valuation from one’s “Get away from it all” urge, need to be independent of cultural trappings and labels, and search for existential meaning.

Notebook #93 observations: (Opposition-Square) They tend to cast themselves as outsiders - not aloof so much as insisting on being distinguished from "the crowd" in an at least somewhat outre social style. Rarely do they blend in or get "lost" in a group.

Saturn-Uranus aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:51 am

SATURN-URANUS (Keyword: TENSION)
These individuals cannot stand to be proven human! They are often resistant to most sharing relationships, or involvements on a reciprocative basis. Their endurance to adverse conditions is remarkable. The need for personal autonomy dominates them. [ADD: Cantankerous obstinacy, but not necessarily confrontative about it. Once their life is on a particular course, it tends to run itself out on that particular course.] (See Garth Allen below for this.)
GARTH ALLEN wrote:An inability to fully participate in a common sharing of interests, enthusiasm, or objective, is traceable to Saturn-Uranus vibrations. There is a retarding of the capacity to yield to outside pressure, a not daring to show one's weaknesses of either the flesh or the mind, which is why the native often has a virtue complex and hates to be caught off guard and proven to be human like everybody else. Because its keywords range from "rigid self-centeredness" to "emotional restraint" and "antisentimentalism," Saturn-Uranus represents Freedom From Surrender. In a sense, then, such a combination is historically if not socially constructive - it creating that kind of endurance, self-respect, and resistance to mass hysteria which oppressive powers have never been able to quell for long. These people may cringe at the thought of kissing grandma goodbye, but are in there swinging when somebody else offends the old gal.
Observation: I find it interesting that both Joseph Smith and Aleister Crowley - two modern "prophets of the book" - have close, major Saturn-Uranus aspects. (Add Crowley's wife and collaborator, Rose Crowley.) There is a type of messianic temperament in Saturn-Uranus people overall, though I think the central point is their needs for personal autonomy in all things, a psychological aversion to being doctrinally dependent on or responsive on others, etc. - causing them to "strike out on their own."

Notebook #93 observations: (Trine-Sextile) They tend to keep their distance from other people and stay detached.

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: Pres. Herbert Hoover, Pres. Vladimir Putin, King Louis XIII, Robert Downey, Jr., Charlie Sheen, Sandra Dee, Charles Gournod, Barbra Streisand, Tammy Wynette, Sean Lennon, Peggy Lee, Jeff Buckley, Burl Ives, Stephen Sondheim, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Justice John Paul Stevens, Aleister Crowley, Amelia Earhart, Rodney King, George Eliot, William Faulkner, John Ashcroft, Gen. Ferdinand Foch

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
Uranus impersonalizes, unshackles, awakens, stimulates, and adds freedom from structure or inhibition to one’s way of facing life’s struggles, areas of insecurity, feelings of inadequacy, and personal autonomy needs.
Saturn structures, formats, inhibits, frustrates, and experiences inadequacy and thus over-compensation concerning one’s individualistic concept of self and avenues of excitement (and how it is pursued).

Saturn-Neptune aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:52 am

SATURN-NEPTUNE (Keyword: FALSE SECURITY)
The potential for accomplishment within these people is terrific, as a blending of hard work with imagination, but they rarely realize their potential. Though thoroughly convinced of their abilities in a given area, they appear so sure they could do something that they do not bother actually to do it; therefore, they remain unproductive. They are worriers, filled with suspicion about others. They display a hypnotic power over others who cross their path, and are talented at organization and implementing of plans. Yet they have preconceived notions of what should be, how the world should be run, how events should mature, and they feel easy resentment when conditions turn out differently. [ADD: Devotionalism.]

FROM INTERPRETING SOLAR RETURNS:
Saturn and Neptune do have some common ground between them. At their worst, for instance, they are anxiety- and sickness-producing. In a more pure form, however, they are world-defining. Neptune ultimately signifies the way we model our experience of the world: what we perceive, how we interpret it, and what we choose to believe as a result. As none of us is psychologically or physiologically capable of perceiving everything in the objective Universe, Neptune represents our capacity to shift and sort. Similarly, Saturn symbolizes objective structure, form, and pattern. When combined, these planets symbolize the capacity to take a vision of the world and imbue it with material substance and believability. Saturn-Neptune people commonly have unyielding models, which becomes a problem if they preclude important options. This is one reason, along with their often frustrated idealism, that Saturn-Neptune aspects are infamous for troubled mental states. Both planets, though in different ways, require much security....

Some examples of real outcomes are discussed here: http://solunars.net/viewtopic.php?f=19& ... 6718#p6718

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: Queen Victoria, Tony Blair, Jawaharlal Nehru, Marilyn Monroe, Ally Sheedy, Joan Sutherland, Patricia Neal, Paula Abdul, MIles Davis, Prince Hisahito, Benazir Bhutto, Heinrich Himmler, Julian Assange, Sen. John Edwards, Noel Coward, Alle Ginsberg, H.P. Loveraft, Edwin Hubble, Venus WIlliams

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
Neptune exaggerates, diffuses, confuses, distorts, infuses with fantasy, hyper-sensitizes, atrophies, and withers one’s way of facing life’s struggles, areas of insecurity, feelings of inadequacy, and personal autonomy needs.
Saturn structures, formats, inhibits, frustrates, and experiences inadequacy and thus over-compensation concerning one’s imagination and fantasy, mode of reality fabrication, sensual indulgence, and response to temptation.

Saturn-Pluto aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:52 am

SATURN-PLUTO (Keyword: ENDURANCE)
Shouldering unwanted burdens, a person with this natal configuration often feels he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders ("Atlas syndrome"). He has a fear of being manipulated, hence is not interested in confederations or alliances. This lone-wolf tries desperately to dissociate himself from all labels and categorizations. The Saturn-Pluto aspect normally causes one to disregard any opinions or beliefs which do not immediately fall in line with his own established attitudes and ideas.

STRIKING EXAMPLES:
Rupert Murdoch's chart is marked by a close Saturn-Pluto opposition, in close trine-sextile to his Sun (and Pluto exactly squares the MC when the chart is relocated to London).
Orson Wells had a close Saturn-Pluto conjunction rising (and semisquare his Sun).
Al Gore has a close rising Saturn-Pluto conjunction that is closely trine-sextile his Sun-Neptune opposition.
Author John Rechy has a close Saturn-Pluto opposition right along his Meridian axis, and closely trine-sextile his Sun.
Leveraging their celebrity as outspoken voices for various causes (at opposite ends of the political spectrum!), both Anita Bryant and James Taylor have a close-but-background Saturn-Pluto tied closely to the Moon.n

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES: Pres. William McKinley, Mel Gibson, Anita Bryant, Tom Hanks, Chris Carter, Della Reese, Debby Boone, Maurice Ravel, Arthur Conan Doyle, Simone de Beauvoir, Alexandre Dumnas, A.E. Housman, Dylan Thomas, Gilliam Helfgott, Cheiro

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
“All or nothing” Pluto strains, either strongly intensifies or thoroughly diminishes, and creates powerful need to be free of others’ arbitrary limitations concerning one’s way of facing life’s struggles, areas of insecurity, feelings of inadequacy, and personal autonomy needs.
Saturn structures, formats, inhibits, frustrates, and experiences inadequacy and thus over-compensation concerning one’s “Get away from it all” urge, need to be independent of cultural trappings and labels, and search for existential meaning.

Uranus-Neptune aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:53 am

[NOTE: Aspects formed among the three outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are common to many millions of birth charts for a period of several years. Generally, they are only significant if angular or involved in important configurations with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars.]

URANUS-NEPTUNE (Keyword: RESTLESS)
These people are not afraid to violate social or intellectual taboos for the sake of understanding. Neptune is the dreamer, the seer of better worlds, and Uranus adds the ingenuity to transform these dreams into reality. There is an almost superstitious or ritualistic feeling of one's own unique position in the eternal scheme of the Universe, and need to determine one's role in whatever Master Plan governs creation.

FURTHER NOTES:
Dependency-independency dilemma is manifest in a major way by this pair, especially if it connects to chart angles. It is probably there, in a different way with luminary contacts, too, but in such cases I'm more aware of a sustained genius in some area. The planets that potently tie into the Uranus-Neptune aspect will make the key difference in manifestation, and really give life to the aspect.
GARTH ALLEN wrote:Neptune-Uranus, we are guessing, imbues a Freedom From Conscience, if socio-political phenomena down the centuries, when these planets were in major formation, are correctly analyzed. During the decade or so, from time to time, that this pair is operating in world affairs, it seems that nobody gives a damn about what is right or wrong, rather asking if it is convenient - the code word of a Beat Generation. This pair is ingenious in the truest sense, purveyors of grand ideas with the gumption to put them into effect.
Garth Allen on Sir Richard Burton wrote:That Uranus-Neptune conjunction within two minutes of arc only accented the pattern of traits from his overendowment by Pluto, stressing his otherworldliness, his lack of orthodoxy and his hatred of the conventional. During the course of this same conjunction, several other potent personalities were ushered into the world to become legends. Uranus-Neptune basically means progress through delusion; for instance, three famous daughters of this conjunction were Victoria Regina, Mary Baker Eddy, and Lydia E. Pinkham, a trio of epoch-makers par excellence who were among the Nineteeth Century's most famous women.
REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES (perhaps not to be taken too seriously):
James A. Eshelman, Pres. Hugo Chavez, King James I, Mel Gibson, Sandra Bernhard, Nathan Lane, Douglas Fairbanks, Charles Baudelaire, Marie Curie, Simone de Beauvoir, Gustave Flaubert, Adolph Eichman, John Hinkley, Sir Richard Burton
[NOTE: Considering the celebrity content of the chart files consulted for this, the virtual absence of any significant MUSIC celebrities is very striking.]

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
Neptune exaggerates, diffuses, confuses, distorts, infuses with fantasy, hyper-sensitizes, atrophies, and withers one’s individualistic concept of self and avenues of excitement (and how it is pursued).
Uranus impersonalizes, unshackles, awakens, stimulates, and adds freedom from structure or inhibition to one’s imagination and fantasy, mode of reality fabrication, sensual indulgence, and response to temptation.

Uranus-Pluto aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:53 am

[NOTE: Aspects formed among the three outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are common to many millions of birth charts for a period of several years. Generally, they are only significant if angular or involved in important configurations with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars.]

URANUS-PLUTO (Keyword: TRANSFORMATION)
An element of disruption and revolt is indicated. When these two planets are mutually configurated in the foreground of a nativity, the person then born has little regard for convention and authority, feeling himself uncompelled to respect anything (except his own mind and soul) just because it is accustomed to being respected. (When this pair of planets aspects, as a unit, some other planet in the nativity, the latter will somehow be disrupted or instilled with the element of novelty and transformation.) Such people are singled out of their generation for particular accomplishment or notoriety and seem to stand outside the circle of their peers as somehow gifted.
GARTH ALLEN wrote:...Freedom From Commonness. In Pluto paired off with Uranus we believe we see a standoffish attitude which recoils from anything that might detract from what a psychologist calls the Guiding Fiction in one's daily existence. All people are driven by a Guiding Fiction in life and it seems abnormally forceful in Pluto-Uranus souls. Still, these long-term planetary compounds are difficult to nail down to succinct interpretations...
REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES (perhaps not to be taken too seriously):
King Edward VI, Charlie Sheen, Michael Caine, Clark Gable, Marlene Dietrich, Omar Sharif, Quincy Jones, William Wyler, Larry King, Nina Simone, Patsy Cline, Richard Rodgers, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Emperor Akihito, William Blake, Walt Disney, Werner Heisenberg, Guy de Maupassant

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
“All or nothing” Pluto strains, either strongly intensifies or thoroughly diminishes, and creates powerful need to be free of others’ arbitrary limitations concerning one’s individualistic concept of self and avenues of excitement (and how it is pursued).
Uranus impersonalizes, unshackles, awakens, stimulates, and adds freedom from structure or inhibition to one’s “Get away from it all” urge, need to be independent of cultural trappings and labels, and search for existential meaning.

Neptune-Pluto aspects

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue May 09, 2017 12:54 am

[NOTE: Aspects formed among the three outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are common to many millions of birth charts for a period of several years. Generally, they are only significant if angular or involved in important configurations with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars.]

NEPTUNE-PLUTO (Keyword: EXPOSÉ)
Prejudice, false preconceptions, and illusory attitudes are smashed and thrown aside when this configuration is in force. The basic aim is for truth and Ultimate Meaning in life. that dreamy part of our psyches which ever desires Edenic perfection (Neptune) is united with the agnostic planet of eternal searching for meaning (Pluto) to give a renovation of philosophical and cultural attitudes.

REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES (perhaps not to be taken too seriously):
Queen Victoria, Herman Goeriing, Karl Marx, Henry Miller, Edna St. Vincent Milay, Elizabeth Prentiss
[Predominantly Writers in the sample available - strkingly so. This, despite the fact that when non-partile limits are used, the aspect scoops up every single major political and ideological leader of WW II era.]

THEORETICAL COMPOSITION:
“All or nothing” Pluto strains, either strongly intensifies or thoroughly diminishes, and creates powerful need to be free of others’ arbitrary limitations concerning one’s imagination and fantasy, mode of reality fabrication, sensual indulgence, and response to temptation.
Neptune exaggerates, diffuses, confuses, distorts, infuses with fantasy, hyper-sensitizes, atrophies, and withers one’s “Get away from it all” urge, need to be independent of cultural trappings and labels, and search for existential meaning.
