Solar Return 2022 - Career

Post by sofie157 » Tue Jan 10, 2023 11:20 am

Hello, my astrology friends. I'd really appreciate some insights on my Solar Return for 2022 specially in what concerns my career. I've started and quit college two times in the last three years, because I felt in my soul that I wasn't going on the right path. Will I be able to get a job in 2023? I currently have two or three prospects for a job but I'm unsure of which path I should take.

Welcome to Solunars.

First, for general patterns, transits have been hard on you. Saturn has been going back and forth across your IC for most of the last year and is about to be done with that (this month). It will then conjoin your Uranus. This means the tone changes from general restrictions and blocks to one of feeling you want to be free, make a change, break out into the open, shift conditions - and the world is saying no, stay put, stay inside, live inside definitions for a while. This is over in about a month, but likely will be quite obvious for the next few weeks.

Uranus is about to square your Jupiter. That tends to mean a lucky break in the near future! (Jupiter recently squared your Moon, so I'm surprised you haven't already had a lucky break in the last couple of months.)

For Ouro Preto, your current Solar Return is a bit chaotic. It's better for study than being out in the world, Both Mercuries are strong. Pluto and Eris are most angular. Moon conjoins Saturn. Not the best Solar Return I've seen in a while. (But Moon squares your NATAL Jupiter also. There is an opportunity to be found with the right timing.)

Before I go further is Ouro Preto where you currently live? I want to look at some monthly and half-monthly charts for the next six months to find the most exceptionally positive periods.

Thank you, Jim! And thank you for your attention as well.

Wow you're spot on. And I'm happy to hear a lucky break is near. Like I said, I have three prospects for this year 1) Study for a bank examination in late April and become a banker 2) Study for a government examination in the second half of the year and become a government worker 3) Focus all my attention to start working with the internet and maybe start my own business online as well.

The last prospect of working online came to me very recently, and arose from feelings of wanting more freedom and flexibility that would allow me to follow my biggest dream which is to travel the world. However if I focus on that I might lose the chance to get very a stable job as a banker or government worker, and this scares me. I tried to interpret the SR myself but I couldn't come to a conclusion of which choice would be the best one.

Yes, I'm living in Ouro Preto do Oeste currently. There are actually two cities named Ouro Preto in the country but the one I live in also has "do Oeste" (61w56, 10s52).

I'm on the road for a week. Others may jump in as well. Otherwise, please remind me after the 18th (this is likely to get lost in new posts and other work while I'm gone).

Yes, thank you, we made good use of the time away :)

Thank you for correcting me on the city. You surmised correctly that I used Ouro Preto in MG, which is quite a bit different. What I said above about transits remains correct, plus things about Solar Return Moon aspects.

Please confirm: Is the Rondonia, Brazil where you were born at 10S52, 61W57? (That seems almost exactly the same as coordinates you gave for Ouro Preto do Oeste.) These are the coordinates I get for Rondonia from the atlas built into Solar Fire, but another online data base (built into TMSA) gives 10S56'15" 62W49'40" which is many minutes away in longitude especially. I'm guessing that this is a state and not a city, yes? (I don't know Brasilian geography very well.) You gave your birth as Ji-Parana, Rondonia, Brazil (city, state, and country), I assume. Ah, I had to look in a third place, but I think I've identified Ji-Parana as 10S52'40", 61W55'40" is this correct? Wikipedia gives something similar, 10S53'07", 61S57'06". These are nearly identical: Which is the best to use to get your natal right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ji-Paran%C3%A1

I finally found Ouro Preto do Oeste - it was in Wikipedia, too, at 10S44'53", 62W12'57". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouro_Preto_do_Oeste This differs 0°07' in latitude and nearly a degree (0°43') in longitude from the coordinates you gave.

Can you confirm which of these is correct? If I were to work without further information, I would presume that your birthplace in Ji-Parana is either 10S56 62W50 (from TMSA) or 10S53, 61W57 (Wikipedia) - small difference, but worth getting right, eh? (There is a difference of several miles.) Also, without further input, you gave for Ouro Preto do Oeste 10S52 61W56 but Wikipedia gives 10S45 62W13. I don't know which to use as there is a big difference. If the first one is correct, then it is within 01' of the probable coordinates of your birthplace, and I might use that for everything.

Please advise.

Yes, these coordinates are correct. I've just checked on my natal chart as well. The cities are very close by that's probably why :)

While awaiting clarification, which will allow me to look at timing, I can look at the more general question of what suits your nature. (I'm confident your birth coordinates are close enough for that purpose.)

First, your goal of travel fits your chart. Your strongest planet by angularity is Uranus, which means that that you love things that are new and changing. That is, your needs for freedom and ongoing renewal and refreshment are among your most powerful needs. Other indications are consistent with enjoying changing scenes and constantly learning new things, engaging new people, and generally exploring. You get bored unless you have diversity in your experience, frequently changing scenes and the ability to frequently change your interests or curiosities. (By the way, my ex-wife, with whom I've remained friends for decades, is a Libra-Gemini like you and has spent most of the last 40 years on the road a significant amount of time. She and her current husband now live in a hot region and spend the five or six hottest months of every year in an RV wandering through different parts of the country. So this kind of traveling life isn't at odds with Libra's love of home comforts.)

However, Uranus needs are not your very strongest. (They are nearly the strongest with Uranus closely on IC.) Even stronger - and somewhat at odds with or competing with your freedom and adventure needs - is Saturn. Your Moon closely conjoins Saturn (less than 1° when measured mundanely). Saturn also is a primary planet describing your Libra Sun. (It also trines your Sun.) While I would put your Uranus strength at 98% maximum potency, I'd place your Saturn at 99% - just a tiny bit stronger.

Saturn needs are the needs for survival and security. (We might say that Saturn represents material needs, but this especially means the needs to keep yourself physically sound and surviving! Saturn's security needs fight with Uranus' needs to cut loose, get out, and discover the future when you get to it rather than planning for it all your life. You need to find a way to meet both of these sets of needs - to let every part of you have a strong voice.

What I think this means is that you aren't as suited to the government job as to other options you mentioned. At least in the U.S., such government jobs require you, first of all, to be well-behaved and controlled. While you are surely a respectful, generally well-behaved person, you have strong needs to cut loose sometimes, think outside the box, be inventive, or just take off in a new direction. Presuming Brasilian government service resembles that in other places, you would feel very psychologically cramped and unhappy unless you got a job with much freedom (which I don't think would happen very soon).

Banking is another matter. Banking is regimented - there are strong rules and guidelines - but you can handle this sort of thing because it still has more flexibility on how to do your job and where you can take your skills. It probably also has a social aspect that works well with your Libra-Gemini temperament.

Many things in your chart speak well with financial matters. For example, while Moon conjunct Saturn can be a difficult aspect, it's good for banking. Moon aspects both Saturn and Jupiter. Libra Sun has some special suitability for financial management. Your curiosity and ability to handle numbers and details and strategies (Gemini Moon, Virgo Mars) seem suited. And, while we don't emphasize houses much, your Moon EXACTLY on the 8th cusp ("other people's money") is one more factor suggesting that this fits. - I would say that unless your Uranus gets way out of control (one can't entirely ignore the strong regulations and regimentation in banking), and as long as you have outside interests and the chance to do something creative, this would fit your temperament well.

As for internet entrepreneurial directions - if you can do it, do it. However, in the same way that government work likely would suppress your need for freedom and change, starting NOW as an internet entrepreneur would seem to ignore your need for solid security. (I'm playing the odds here: Most people don't start out being immediately or significantly successful. However - I repeat - if you find you can do it, then go for it! You will be voting for adventure at the possible cost of security. Your exact Jupiter-Pluto trine just might make it work.)

That's just analyzing your chart by your birth potential - your character. Vocational astrology primarily seeks to match your character with a life activity.

Thank you. For your present city, I'll use 10S44'53", 62W12'57". Having examined character against the occupations, I think the main thing we need to do is see how things look for you in April for the banking exam. Meanwhile, I'll also scan your lunar returns throughout the year for any unusually positive, negative, or highly distinctive two-week periods.

For the correct location (now that I'm not using the MG city), your current Solar Return is challenging. Natal Mars is the strongest planet - your aggressions, striking out, combating the world and those around you, having to fight for things. Solar return Moon aspects Saturn and Uranus exactly, giving that push-pull security-freedom tensions I mentioned in my first response (and which are in you naturally). But SSR Moon also squares your Jupiter: Your probably doing fine making it through the year feeling pretty good on balance. (There are other positives saying we don't have to take the Saturn too seriously except in the "competing needs" sense.)

Your next Solar Return (October 2023) also emphasizes your Mars. It is competitive, physical, a sense of fighting. SSR Moon exactly opposes your Mars. If you have the chance to travel for your birthday, you might want to give yourself a present. For example, do you like Nicaragua? Managua seems a perfect place for your 2023 Solar Return to occur with Venus 0° from an angle (tied into your natal Pluto).

I'll move on to your lunar returns.

I will only mention charts where something unusual stands out. Full lunar returns (SLR) last for two-to-four weeks. Demi-lunars (DSLR) last for two weeks. I'll check from now until the end of the calendar year.

DSLR Feb 16: Venus conjunct Neptune closely angular. More romantic or being enchanted by someone. (You have this aspect at birth and are prone to have happy illusions about people, sometimes to your benefit and sometimes not.)

DSLR Mar 15: Transiting Pluto on your Sun (both closely angular). These are high-impact events that ultimately are preparing (over the next few years) to rewrite your sense of who you are and where you are going in life. This narrow two-week period has something distinctive happen that may redirect where your life goes for now. (With two moderately angular Venuses, don't assume it's a bad thing - it might be meeting someone.)

SLR Mar 28: This covers most of April. For a test, it's quite good! Your Mercury is 0°03' from an angle. Transiting Mercury and Jupiter are somewhat strong. The closest aspect is a transiting Mercury-Jupiter conjunction 0°03', plus transiting Jupiter opposes your natal Mercury. These are about the best aspects for an examination as possible. The LEAST they show is that you are strongly, happily engaged in Mercury activity (such as studying, among other things).

SLR Apr 24: This is a depressing chart. I include it because it shows a very low mood. Natal Saturn is 44' from Midheaven (your Moon nearby), transiting Neptune 39' from Descendant, and they square 1°23'. Expect disappointment about something important. - I don't k ow when you would get the test results. The chart for most of April is VERY POSITIVE for Mercury activities (like studying, testing) overall, then this chart shows some profound disappointment on or in the wake of April 24. If your test is early in April, I think this means that the disappointment is about something else.

DSLR Jul 30: More Venus-Neptune. Similar to the Feb 15 demi-lunar.

SLR Aug 11: Transiting Mercury square natal Pluto (0°02') closely angular. This could be many things - primarily, information, news, communication, or (especially) people soliciting information from you that has a strong impact on you (good or bad), concentrating your attention.

SLR Sep 8: Mars dominates: Transiting Mars conjoins natal Mars within 0°09' and both square SLR Ascendant exactly. This primarily means a major release of energy but probably in terms of combat, competition, physical engagement, physical struggle. While it MIGHT just mean major exertion of strength (and does primarily mean the universe is opening the gate to you exerting and testing your personal strength or power against challenges), this positive outcome would be in the sense of "shoulder to shoulder with comrades" marching against a foe together.

SLR Nov 1: Really positive! Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury are closely angular along with natal Venus. The one strong aspect is Jupiter opposite your Venus. Very positive for Venus things (romance, beauty, friendship, happiness).

SLR Nov 29: Jupiter and Pluto on angles with your Venus, Neptune, and Sun. The one strong aspect is again Jupiter opposite your Venus. Much the same as the November 1 SLR.

Woah Jim, thank you for your precious time. I'm very excited about your reading! Sorry I didn't see the update on your previous posts, yes Rondonia is a state and Ji-Parana is the city but I think the coordinates you got are quite accurate. I'm just a tad bit confused about some aspects you mentioned like Libra Sun, Gemini Moon and Virgo Mars because I think my chart is Scorpio Sun, Cancer Moon and Libra Mars? Or do you maybe use another type of chart?

This entire site is about Sidereal astrology. That means we use the Sidereal zodiac.

See this for a general statement: https://solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2259

For those sign meanings in your chart, see:

Thank you for the links and sorry for my ignorance. I will surely start looking deeper into sidereal astrology because what you said about my chart is very accurate. I can strongly feel that Uranus-Saturn fight in my personality, with the need of freedom but also stability.

Upon reading your first message I decided to focus 100% on the bank examination and when I had a proper job I could give entrepreneurship a try. But woah didn't that 24 april chart discourage me haha The exam is exactly on the 23th and the official answers will probably be already out by the 24th, I figure that means I'll have a bad result right. Now it's sure a tricky decision to make... But it's good to have already discarded the government option, it truly comes with many things that are astray from my personality that I was pretending I didn't see.

I'll surely come back to post about what ends up happening. Thank you :)
