JAE Lunar Returns 2021

Post by Jim Eshelman » Fri Jan 01, 2021 3:50 pm

New thread for a new year. Here, to get it started, is a reprint of my 'bridging' SLR.

The last SLR of the year is primarily luminary-driven. I am interested to see if Sun's concentration on IC will take a privacy (isolation) theme - giving character to the particular angle - since that is what conditions seem to be forging most. The angles are almost exactly my natal angles. Because of a roughly 11° difference in celestial latitude, natal Moon is in quite a different right ascension than transiting Moon, so it is transiting Moon that is closely angular while natal Moon is no more than a backup player. (Neither Moon is close enough to Neptune this time to make Class 1.)

t Mercury on IC -4°00'
t Sun on IC -3°23'
------------------------
t Moon on EP +1°06' (r Moon on Dsc +3°27')
t Neptune on Dsc +8°36'

-- t Sun-Mercury conj. 0°37' mundo

Other partile
t Jupiter-Saturn conj. 0°03'
t Pluto conj. r Mars 0°06'
t Mars-Pluto sq. 0°48'
t Mars sq. r Mars 0°54'

In addition to whatever "backdrop activity" the non-foreground partile aspects bring, the Class 2 angularities and Class 1 aspects of the chart, in order of strength, are:

t Sun-Mercury conj. 0°37'
t Moon on EP +1°06'
t Sun on IC -3°23'
t Mercury on IC -4°00'

My demi-lunar will occur Monday, January 4, 2021 at 8:35 AM PST as we head back onto the job - but still working from home most of the time. (I should be feeling it by Sunday morning.) I expect to be home when this sets up. It looks like the world is kinder to me than I am to myself.

SLR 1/17/21

Post by Jim Eshelman » Mon Jan 18, 2021 8:34 am

I completely missed that I had an SLR. (It only occurred to me when thinking that the Caplunar had been in for a few days.) It set up January 17 (yesterday) at 8:27 AM PST at home. At a glance, it doesn't look like much. (Happy to see Marion's Demi with Venus at Midheaven.) Here's the breakdown:

t Mercury on Asc +4°55'
r Pluto on WP +2°58'

(no foreground aspects)

Other partile
t Jupiter-Uranus sq. 0°04'
t Sun op. r Uranus 0°35'
-- t Sun op. r Jupiter 0°51'
t Pluto conj. r Mars 0°44' mundo

Demi-SLR 1/31/2021

Perhaps it's because I'm a Virgo, but I really don't like Neptune presenting itself; and here we go again with a Demi (under a minimal SLR in the first place) with Neptune transiting my Moon (this time closely) in the foreground. (These have not come out well for me.) It occurs Sunday, January 31, 2:33 PM PST, when I surely will be at home. I'll likely be feeling it by tomorrow afternoon. -- A side issue: This is the first time Pluto hasn't been partile conjunct my Mars in I-don't-remember-when. -- The non-foreground partile transits are interesting since they touch nearly everything of any importance or closeness in my chart.

This Leo is not fond of finding Neptune near an angle or luminary. When I had Neptune riding close to my natal moon long term, I would answer the phone before it rang, greeting the person who'd called by name. That was fun, but that was pretty much all that was.

Jim... So Many 'square' and 'opposition' aspects are lining your shelves it appears. Ride your best horse!

When basking in the light of a full Moon don't feel like the Lone Stranger when the Universe lines your pockets with memorabilia... The Cosmos are delivering huge morsels these days... With the backdrop of Neptune square the Lunar Nodes from the CapSolar to Feb. 17th and Saturn squares Uranus we can hope that challenges provide opportunities for growth!

My 'upcoming season of change' comes up on Feb. 1st when a t-square(partile) occurs with my natal Pluto and transiting Mars and Sun. Couple that with an exact partile of Transiting Neptune square natal Sun. The transiting Moon will exact partile square the ASC and will partile trine transiting Venus... To balance this all out transiting Mars will trine the EP.....

The following day I am scheduled for my first covid-19 vaccine shot.... Hope it works!

Upon further reflection the Mars Uranus conjunction of Jan. 20th continues to influence me. Neptune was elevated and partile square the ASC where I live. A fella can dream.....

Re: Demi-SLR 1/31/2021

Post by Jim Eshelman » Mon Feb 08, 2021 9:40 am

I've been curious - looking for an astrological explanation - of why, around 11 PM on February 5, I suddenly felt - out of the blue with no prompting - an absolute certainty that now was the time to simply move the planet Eris into routine use. This seemed to have no event leading up to it, e.g., not a single new Eris observation, no chart that triggered it - and, simultaneously, no gigantic astrological prompting at the time. (There are lesser ongoing astrological reasons for such moves, like the close and angular Mercury-Uranus opposition in my SSR. Just nothing to mark that time.)

I have non-astrological explanations satisfying to me at the moment, but would have expected an astrological trigger as well.

One possible type of trigger would be something involving Eris suddenly active in my own chart. I just found a small example of this in the January 31 Demi-SLR. Nothing big; just enough to say I found something. Transiting Sun makes a middleground mundane square to natal and transiting Eris in the Demi-SLR. (Eris has moved half a sign since I was born but has shifted dramatically in latitude during that time - causing some rather unusual mundane behavior, including rising much earlier now than it did over six decades ago, even though it has been moving forward along the zodiac. Another is that, sometimes, my natal and transiting Eris show up at the same place mundanely.)

Here are the numbers:

9°08' in the 11th house - r Eris
9°38' in the 8th house - t Sun
10°31' in the 11th house - t Eris

It's a start!

SLR 2/13/2021

Post by Jim Eshelman » Tue Feb 09, 2021 11:02 am

My next SLR occurs Saturday, February 13, 2021, 5:22 PM PST. I likely will be at home since Marion has an all-day professional seminar on Zoom. This is a quite robust SLR. It's a remarkable combination of positive and negative factors - of near blessings and of aggressive challenges and confrontations. - It should be most educational.

Re: SLR 2/13/2021

This fortnight has been a good expression of this lunar return with distinct good things and bad things both showing. On the negative side, we get hit with a hard financial blow - a bit of karma catching up to us, but it was relatively easy to contain the damage and recover most of it. The positives included our wine company annual retreat (held on Zoom this year) which was enjoyable, brought interesting and probably good business, and even got us acknowledged for successes: Of the 2,000 or so Boisset wine ambassadors in the country, we were No. 4 in 2020 in driving the most hits to our business web site from social media. (This startled us: We actually don't think we're very good at that, though it seems we're better than we thought. The next trick is to convert site visits to purchases.)

Along with all this, I also got my No. 2 vaccine - I tend to think of Jupiter as signifying competent medical care.

My Demi will occur Saturday, February 27, at 10:46 PM. I expect to be here at home. I should start feeling it by Friday evening. One of the easiest things to see is that it's weighted toward benefics and should be unusually good for Mercury things.
