Testing 40° Solar Ingresses

Post by Jim Eshelman » Wed May 10, 2017 6:30 pm

It has been recommended that I explore whether the Ennead theory applies to mundane astrology. The most reasonable-seeming test is to postulate that 0° Capricorn is an "original" (equivalent to natal) Sun position, and to check 40°-multiple locations from there, as if (in a Navamsa world) each was an equivalent to a 0°00' Capricorn Navamsa Sun.

As a pilot, I will take all Fires currently in SMA, exclude those where the prior 40°-series chart would be the Capsolar, and itemize the operative planetary factors along the same lines as I've catalogued them for known-working techniques in SMA.

APOLLO 1 (0 Cap - SKIP)

BAKU METRO FIRE (10 Lib)
(I've taken the unusual step of bending over backwards for this technique and giving it benefit of the doubt. A new chart occurred 6:13 PM, and we only know the time of the fire as "rush hour." I looked at the outgoing and incoming charts, and picked the better one (which was the incoming).

Fires are dominated by Mars, Neptune, and Saturn (supported by Sun). Moon aspects to the three malefics are also the most common, except that Moon-Venus aspects spike for entertainment/recreation settings. The most common non-lunar aspects are Venus-Saturn, Venus-Pluto, Mars-Saturn.

How does that compare to what we found above for the same set of fires (only excluding two because they fell immediately after Capsolars)?

Braking out the data collated above, we find that there are patterns but (in the best case) they don't match what we are used to seeing from major fires and, more generally, seem suspect.

Here are numbers for close ANGULARITY.
8 Uranus
3 Jupiter Pluto
2 Moon Mercury Venus Mars Neptune
1 Sun Saturn

The strong lead of Uranus is numerically striking. The problem is that, of all the kinds of disasters studied, Uranus has no particular proven relationship to fires. In terms of angularity, it is perfectly ordinary. (This is true even if we look at only solar ingresses.) So yes, there was a "result" in the tally, but no, it wasn't anything that matches how these planets behave for known valid techniques applied to the same data.

Here are numbers for close MOON ASPECTS.
6 Venus
3 Mars Jupiter
2 Sun Mercury Uranus Neptune
1 Saturn

This is a little more interesting, because the one clear leader, Venus, is also the planet (along with Neptune) that most often aspects Moon in other studies of fires done previously. I remain skeptical of this, though, because of the events where it shows. In other fire studies, Moon-Venus almost exclusively shows for fires that occur in settings of recreation, luxury, or entertainment. For the present data, that is true for the Niteroi circus and Rhythm Club fires, and arguably the Winecoff Hotel, but not for the other three. Additionally, Moon-Venus is not joined by the preponderance of Moon with the three malefics that we normally see (Moon-Saturn is dead last).

Here are numbers for ANGULARITY + MOON ASPECTS combined.
10 Uranus
8 Venus
6 Jupiter
5 Mars
4 Mercury Neptune
3 Moon Sun Pluto
2 Saturn

With the three malefics leading, this doesn't at all resemble a pattern for fires. (Not at all!)

For sake of completion, here are the foreground non-lunar aspects that appear more than once.

3 Venus-Mars Venus-Jupiter Uranus-Pluto
2 Mercury-Pluto
