Starting the thread... don't know if I'll have time to work up the Indonesian earthquake, but let's get this going...

Indonesian earthquake

Post by Jim Eshelman » Mon Aug 06, 2018 8:09 am

August 5, 2018, 11:46:37 UT, 8S17'14'', 116E27'06'' (near Loloan, Lombok, Indonesia - impact on Bali), magnitude 6.9

So far, the death toll is 91 (it has been predictably climbing). I'm not sure if this should get more attention of the 6.4 quake July 29 (earlier in the series, but fewer fatalities and overall lesser impact).

The charts frankly suck! (The CapQ, as a stand-alone, is fine.)

Year: Capsolar (Dormant.) Moon-Mercury Moon-Saturn.

Death Sentence to be carried out in Nebraska

Post by Jupiter Sets at Dawn » Mon Aug 06, 2018 3:08 pm

10 AM, August 14th,State Penitentiary at Lincoln, NE
Carey Moore, convicted of killing two cab drivers, will be put to death with undisclosed chemicals, the first time the state of NE will use lethal injection, the first time any state uses the recently adopted 4 chemical protocol and the first state-sponsored killing n NE 1997.
Lots of firsts. One big last.

At the scheduled moment, Saturn is about a degree from IC in Sagittarius. "The End."

Furthermore, Lincoln is on that mid-country stretch where the Capsolar's Moon-Mercury-Saturn conjunction is angular, with Saturn 0°48' on one side of IC and Moon 0°48' on the other.

The Caplunar has Mars opposite Sun 0°14' with EP with Sun within 2° of WP and Mars closer to 3° from EP. A Moon-Pluto conjunction is in the rising foreground, among other fine points. - Neptune is on the Canlunar's IC.

For the scheduled hour, murder is on the menu, with CapQ MC 1°08' from transiting Mars Uranus < 2° from square Mc) and ingress Mars 0°56' from CapQ Descendant. This puts the two Marses in an implicit 0°12' square (co-angularity) with relation to those angles. Transiting Saturn will be 0°49' from Capsolar IC.

We don't need anything from the CanQ, but - guess what! - it's MC is the same as the Capsolar MC, so transiting Saturn is also 0°02' from CanQ IC.

While one could conceivably interpret all that Saturn as "everything goes wrong and they have to stop," it seems much more likely that Celebrity Death Event will go off as scheduled.

They're holding it at 10 AM to avoid drunken revelry and bloody fights between revelers and protesters as have happened in the past. They want some sense of decorum. I want to sue so they have to say in the name of the people of Nebraska except JSAD. Another item on the list of things I will do should I ever win the lottery or something.

Mendocino Complex Fire now Cali's biggest

Post by Jim Eshelman » Mon Aug 06, 2018 9:58 pm

The Mendocino Complex fire (a complex of two large fires: the River Fire and Ranch Fire) today became California's largest wild fire ever.

If began July 27, 2018, time unknown in Mendocino County, California. It has presently destroyed 283,800 acres.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mendocino_Complex_Fire

The Ranch Fire started it all, and began July 27, 2018, 12:05 PM near Potter Valley, CA. If there is a single start time for the Mendocino Complex fire, this is it. (The River Fire started about an hour later near Hopland.)

The Ranch Fire began with Pluto near IC and an 0°08' Moon-Mars conjunction partile opposite Sun.

The original quake in the series occurred July 28, 2018, 22:47:37 UT, 8S16'26'', 116E29'27''.

These charts are much better! (This is the first quake, and in some ways would be the one always studied except the later one was much worse.)

The initial assessment of this event was quite poor, though the CapQ did come through by itself at least with Mars square Ascendant (but at the outer edge of its orb, hardly stunning).

However, I asked Steve to confirm calculation of PSSI progression of the Capsolar, Cansolar, and Arisolar and we hit a bonanza. I'm still not convinced we have a workable, reliable tool in the PSSI because it has been difficult to find sufficient examples that are stunning. (They are so few that they might just be occurring by chance.) But to have a three-for-three hit on this particular event is sobering.

PSSI Capsolar
23°05' Sag p Asc (Apparent Rate)
24°02' Sag p Asc (Mean Rate)
24°18' Sag s Pluto
24°29' Sag t Pluto

PSSI Cansolar
5°23' Cap p MC (Apparent Rate)
5°27' Cap p MC (Mean Rate)
6°56' Cap t Mars
7°23' Ari p Asc (Apparent Rate)
7°34' Ari t Uranus
8°00' Ari p Asc (Mean Rate)

PSSI Arisolar
20°11' Vir p Asc (Mean Rate)
20°45' Sag p Mars
21°43' Pis p Moon
22°17' Vir p Asc (Apparent Rate)

Mean Rate Average Orb: 16', 27', 89', 26', 34' = 0°38'
Apparent Rate Average Orb: 73', 84', 93', 11', 92' = 0°56'
