Mass prison releases in Oklahoma

Post by Jupiter Sets at Dawn » Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:59 pm

Back in 2016, Oklahoma voters chose to change laws changing possession of small amounts of drugs and property crimes under $1000 misdemeanors rather than felonies, and limit jail time for these crimes. In January a bipartisian group of lawmakers made the changes retroactive.
On Friday morning, the Pardon and Parole Board voted unanimously to commute the sentences of 527 prisoners under the rule change. 65 have other detainers but 462 pardons were sent to the governor who signed all of them Friday afternoon and sent those along to the Board of Corrections. The BoC worked through the weekend to process the discharge paperwork, move inmates trust accounts to banks and get debit cards issued, and prepare discharge medications. They also arranged driver's licenses or state ID cards to be issued before discharge. Most inmates have jobs waiting and help getting housing through non-profits which worked since January to set up support for released inmates.

11:00 AM Central Time, November 4, 2019, lines of inmates walked out of prisons across the State of Oklahoma.

Its about frigging time! The rest of the country needs to pass the same laws!

So it's off-year election night and KY went blue

Post by Jupiter Sets at Dawn » Tue Nov 05, 2019 6:35 pm

The Kentucky governor race was just called (at 8:20PM or maybe 9:20 PM because I think KY is on eastern time) for the Democrat by about 6000 votes (close.) Trump was in KY last night stumping for the incumbent Republican and trying to make the election a referendum on him. Let's hope. The incumbent is a lot like Trump. Sort of a Trump before Trump.

Mitch McConnell is a senator from KY who is up for re-election next year, along with Trump. The other KY senator is Rand Paul.

The un-gerrymandered by court order VA state senate has just gone blue according to the AP. We'll see about the house.

If you're still looking for good news events, I think the Oklahoma release counts.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Just need to find the time to dig into it.

At the time of the release, Mars was on MC square (28') Pluto on EP and, more widely, Saturn. This is a surprise, because these aspects are usually more punitive, not less punitive; but I'm not all that impressed with "event charts" compared to the ingresses, so let's see what the ingresses have to say.

Year: Capsolar (Dormant.)
Year: Cansolar (Dormant.) Moon-Mars Moon-Uranus.

Bridge {-2}
CanQ Moon op. s/p Mars

Quarter: Libsolar {+2}
Neptune sq. Asc 0°23'
Moon on Dsc 2°15'
Jupiter on Asc 3°46'
Mars more widely foreground
-- Moon-Jupiter op. 0°34'

Month/Week: Caplunar {+2}
Venus on WP 0°18'
Mercury sq. MC 0°25'
Neptune sq, Asc 1°29'
Jupiter widely foreground

Day: Capsolar Quotidian {-2}
Similarity between CapQ angles & event chart angles: seems too punitive
p Asc conj. t Mars 0°08', sq. t Pluto 0°36', sq. s Pluto 0°48'
-- t Mars-Pluto sq. 0°28'
-- t Mars sq. s Pluto 0°40'

Day: Cansolar Quotidian & Transits {+2}
p Moon op. s Mars 0°26'
p Asc sq. t Jupiter 0°55'
-------------------------------
t Mercury conj. s Asc 1°10'
t Venus sq. s MC 1°48'

Public Impeachment Hearings

Post by Jim Eshelman » Wed Nov 13, 2019 8:19 am

The House of Representatives began public impeachment hearings today, November 13, 2019, in the Capitol Building, Washington, DC, reportedly at 10:05 AM.

Noteworthy at the time, compared to the U.S. chart:

21°31' Gemini - r Sun
21°22' Sagittarius - t Saturn
21°55' Virgo - r Asc
22°37' Sagittarius - p Moon
23°11' Virgo - r Saturn

Santa Clarita school shooting

Post by Jim Eshelman » Thu Nov 14, 2019 10:08 am

November 14, 2019, 7:40 AM, Santa Clarita, CA

As shootings go, this one was small, though I decline to say it is less tragic. A 15-year-old kid (now in custody) shot five people (two of whom died) at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita.

Data is still coming in. Today has a Venus-Neptune square so, hey, another Venus-Neptune, another school shooting.

Timing is given by CNN as "about 20 minutes before the start of school." UPDATE: LA Times says 7:40 AM. That puts a 0°05' Venus-Neptune square on the angles.

Uranus is exactly angular in the Arilunar for the week. The CapQ has ingress Mars and Saturn exactly on anglers, while the CanQ has the telltale transiting Venus-Neptune aspect on the angles.
