2020 Outer Planet Sign Transits

Post by Jim Eshelman » Thu Nov 07, 2019 8:03 am

Outer planet sign placements have been stable for a couple of years, but do important shift-ups in 2020. In particular, it marks a dramatic shift from long-term SAGITTARIUS emphasis to a new CAPRICORN emphasis. (This picks up more speed the following year when Pluto shifts.) Mars has a prolonged stay in Pisces due to retrogradation, including Election Day. Here is a list of what to expect.

Placements on January 1:
Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter in Sagittarius
Neptune in Aquarius
Uranus in Aries

Outer Planet Sign Changes:
Saturn enters Capricorn January 31
Jupiter enters Capricorn April 6
Jupiter returns to Sagittarius June 22
Jupiter returns to Capricorn November 24

Mars Sign Changes:
Mars enters Sagittarius February 9
Mars enters Capricorn March 23
Mars enters Aquarius May 5
Mars enters Pisces June 19
Mars enters Aries August 19
-- Mars stationary retrograde September 9 @ 3°07' Aries
Mars enters Pisces September 30
-- Mars stationary direct November 13 @ 20°12' Pisces
Mars enters Aries December 26

Pluto almost makes it to Capricorn, but not quite. It's April 25 station is 29°55' Sagittarius.

In 2021, Pluto enters Capricorn January 26, slips back to Sagittarius in August, then stabilizes in Capricorn December 1. Saturn is in Capricorn all year. Jupiter splits between Capricorn and Aquarius,

It may also be interesting to have (in the same place as the above) the major outer planet aspects for 2020. Saturn conjoins Pluto once, and Jupiter conjoins Saturn once and Pluto three times. (Jupiter intersperses three sextiles to Neptune, likely of minor import.)

Sat Cnj Plu Jan 12
Jup Cnj Plu Apr 4
Jup Cnj Plu Jun 30
Jup Cnj Plu Nov 12
Jup Cnj Sat Dec 21

All of these conjunctions occur in late Sagittarius except the epochal Jupiter-Saturn conjunction at the winter solstice. It occurs at 5°27' Capricorn.

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is during my penultimate Pl-90-Pl transit (28DEC2019-14JAN2020). So I'll be feeling that!

Fortunately, it will also be my last Saturn transit for all of 2020! Then it will be mostly Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune for the rest of the year (plus my final Pluto transit in this cycle)
