Cyclone Fani

Post by Jim Eshelman » Mon Jun 10, 2019 8:41 pm

May 3, 2019, 8:00 AM IST, Puri, Odisha, India (use Bhubaneswar)
https://www.cnn.com/india/live-news/cyc ... index.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_Fani

Cyclone Fani made landfall near Puri, Odisha, India. It's India's strongest tropical cyclone in 20 years. It reached Category 4 levels (almost Cat 5) with 155 mph sustained winds, which slowed to 115 mph winds by the time it made landfall.

89 people died (64 of them in Odisha). A million people were evacuated in anticipation of the storm. Damages are estimated at $1.81 billion. After striking various parts of India, Fani moved to Bangladesh where 17 of the deaths occurred.

The capital of Odisha state is Bhubaneswar. I probably should recalculate for Puri now that I have coordinates, if they are far apart.

Let's recalculate this for Puri, India, about a degree of longitude and half a degree of latitude away from Bhubaneswar.

Year: Capsolar {+3}
Mercury on Dsc 0°13'
Mars on MC 0°53'
Saturn on Dsc 2°10'
Pluto more widely foreground
-- Mercury-Mars sq. 0°46' in mundo
-- Mercury-Saturn conj. 2°22' in mundo
-- -- Me/Sa on Dsc 0°59'
-- Pluto conj. non-foreground Sun 3°55'

Bridge (None.)

Quarter: Arisolar {+2}
Sun on MC 0°09'
Saturn on WP 1°23'
Pluto on WP 1°42'
-- Sa/Pl on WP 0°14'
-- Saturn-Pluto conj. 2°46' in mundo
-- Sun-Pluto sq. 1°53'
Uranus more widely foreground

Month: Caplunar {+3}
Saturn on MC 0°27'
Moon, Sun, Mercury, Uranus, & Pluto more widely angular
-- Uranus-Pluto sq. 0°13' in mundo
-- Moon-Sun sq. 0°21' in mundo
-- Mercury-Saturn sq. 1°42' PVP
-- Moon-Pluto conj. 1°51'
-- Sun-Uranus conj. 1°52' in mundo
-- Sun-Pluto sq. 2°05' in mundo
-- Moon-Uranus sq. 2°13' in mundo
-- Saturn-Pluto conj. 2°39'

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits {+2 / -1 = +1}
(This is one where the capital is a better fit.)
p Asc sq. t Pluto 0°18', op. t Mercury 0°38', sq. s Pluto 1°46'
p MC sq. t Moon 1°56'
-- t Moon sq. s Pluto 0°20'
