Pluto in the Constellations - interpretation resources

Post by Jim Eshelman » Thu Mar 15, 2018 11:20 pm

Only the findings derived from the Gauquelin data are given below. One has to question whether these can be called "findings," but they are, nonetheless, a correct report of the statistically anomalous results for Pluto placement that come from the data. Overall, Pluto's expected impact on individual character is minimal-to-none.

The Baby Boomer generation stretches across Pluto in Cancer and Leo (but only began with those born after WW II, so there is more Leo than Cancer). Besides the strong rebellion against historic patterns, parental relationships, and public institutions, here are traits commonly attributed to the demographic (born 1946-64):
  • Motivated to work hard and achieve goals
  • Self-assured, confident, competitive
  • Values teamwork, loyalty, duty
  • Shaped by historical events such as the Vietnam War, the civil rights movement, and Watergate
  • Sometimes thought self-centered and individualistic, but also as socially conscious and influential

This includes all but the earliest years of Gen X (about 1965-80). Pluto in Virgo fits much better than Neptune in Scorpio, though both are in the mix. Here are some traits attributed to the demographic:
  • Resourceful, technologically adept, highly educated
  • Keen on keeping work-life balance (in contrast to what they saw in their parents)
  • Appreciate informality

This is a near perfect overlap with Gen Y aka millennials. The blend of Pluto in Libra and Neptune in Sagittarius is more fitting than either of them individually. Here are some basic traits attributed by sociologists to the group that we can weigh against Libra symbolism (it's easier for me to see Neptune in Sag).
  • Strong sense of entitlement
  • Needs instant gratification
  • Desire for constant stimulation and excitement
  • Gives priority to work-life balance
  • Preference for collaboration over competition

First half of Gen Z (which seems more clearly marked by Neptune in Capricorn).

Nonetheless, Gen Z traits that may reflect the Scorpio influence are being self-driven and practical, and valuing individual expression and authenticity.

CHARACTER TRAITS:
Significantly high: Ambitious, Courageous
Significantly low:

Second half of Gen Z, which seems more clearly marked by Neptune in Capricorn. Nonetheless, Sagittarian themes (and the statistical results above) do suggest a Sagittarian quality, especially in terms of ambition, concern with social causes especially regarding diversity, being frequent travelers, and greater racial and ethnic diversity.
