May 23, 1844, just after sunset, Shiraz, Persia [now Iran]

The prophet the Bab privately announced his revelations to religious leader Mulla Husayn, which is taken as the moment of the founding of the Ba'hai religion. It was the same day when Abdu'l-Baha was born nearby in Tehran.
